Interviews and speeches feature:

Marine Sgt. Liam Madden was serving in Iraq when he helped organize the Appeal for Redress, getting other active duty members of the military to write letters to their members of Congress opposing the war. He was honorably discharged and now serves on the Board of Directors of Iraq Veterans Against the War.

Annie Diemand is a member of Military Families Speak Out, which now includes 3,700 families. She told the crowd her son and daughter-in-law are both serving in Iraq.

On the Boston Common near the stage, a striking tableau was enacted by three identical triplets. One was dressed as an Iraqi civilian, one as a U.S. soldier, and one as a victim of the attack on 9/11. Two red ribbons were unfurled, one illustrating the fewer than 3,000 American civilians killed on September 11, and a longer one representing the almost 4,000 U.S.military casualties in Iraq. A long, wide swath of red fabric cascaded across the grass from the feet of the sister portraying the Iraqi civilian to indicate the up to one million civilian deaths in the war.

After the rally, an estimated 10,000 people marched a short distance to Copley Square and back to the Common, accompanied by a lively brass band.
